10 Hill Place is located to the right of the Surgeons' Hall, very close to the city's prominent Festival Theatre, and just off Nicholson Street. The hotel runs along Hill Place. Parking is in metered bays, which can be busy, but the hotel can recommend car parks nearby. It's about a 10-minute walk from here to the Royal Mile.

The hotel is good in that it doesn't really have a bad room as such, but we do like the higher level rooms with a better view (if the view matters - ask!) and if you can stretch to (and nab) a Skyline Room we'd go for that. Late checkout (2pm, £23) is lower if booked ahead online. We also liked the late arrival 'late plate' tray. In bedrooms a semi-see-through bathroom door is clearly a bit avant-garde for some!
