This riverside hotel was unusually well built; of an American design feel it boasts a marble foyer, high ceilings and spacious bedrooms. It’s on the River Clyde on the western side of Glasgow. The Beardmore is now state-owned; it was originally built 15 years ago as part of an elaborate Arab-owned private hospital-with-plush-hotel complex. The hotel won Scottish Business Hotel of the Year 2010 thanks to excellent meeting rooms including a 160-seat auditorium, helpful service, easy parking and efficient bedrooms. Friendly staff and good food are strong features of this independent hotel which we recommend particularly for meetings and conference business. Leisure guests with cars will enjoy the free parking and equidistance (20 minutes) to Glasgow city centre or Loch Lomond.
