By room numbers this Glasgow hotel is Scotland’s largest. Jury’s is a people-centred business, something we like. Friendly for a big city hotel, managed and staffed by a motivated team offering good service, this successful premium budget hotel offers a well thought-through package. Location is mid-town, parking's easy and Central Station (where London trains arrive) is adjacent. Air-conditioned rooms have all the essentials, housekeeping is excellent, bathrooms are fresh and bright. Inntro, a lively café-bar, is ideal for coffees, drinks, snacks. Restaurant serves fresh, tasty, almost homely cooking and a good breakfast with wide selection. Hotel is well set up for meetings, is experienced (and commended) in hosting large, complex groups. Green Tourism Scheme gold award holder.

Need to know

> Accommodation is all of the one class and is spread over 11 floors, but we have some tips
> Biggest bedrooms are the corner rooms with numbers ending 07, for example 1107
> Ask for a room on one of the upper floors as low, rear-facing rooms get some station noise
> This Jurys has introduced room service as it distinguishes itself from 'ordinary budget brands'
> Inntro bar lounge has big TV for events and news but quieter area with sofas for relaxing
> Innfusion restaurant is pleasant and does all three meals incl. daily Chef's Menu; good value
> Keen attention to corporate accounts: Lynsey McLelland won Sales Manager of the Year 2010
> Jurys Inns in Scotland won Eco Hotel Group of the Year 2011; all depts. here deserve praise
> Smart new Thistle car park across road has special Jurys guest rate of £7 for 24 hours
> It’s a premium budget hotel: advance bookings much cheaper; last-minute can be pricey

We love…

…The way hotel has embraced green issues in a remarkably thorough, all departments way
…Quieter upper floor bedrooms with good views across the city or river Clyde
…The well-designed and appropriate menus in the restaurant offering freshness and choice
…Their hunger for corporate business and determination to look after clients passionately
…A general feeling here that they try their hardest to be the best they can; they work it, baby
