Taking part works!
The Scottish Hotel Awards' very own, all-new Scottish Hotel Guide has features, a design and innovative Live Hotel Star Rating system designed after years of hotel guide experience plus input from leading Scots hoteliers. The project was launched by the former Tourism Minister Jim Mather MSP in October 2010 and we will have the site in its final format, including all entries, by the end of summer 2011.
The Scottish Hotel Awards were established in 2003 by much the same judging and editorial team as now; the awards website has operated for 8 years and is now revamped for 2011/12 with video. Revised and simplified 2012 categories will be online about 6 months before Awards Night 2012.
Participation is arranged on an individual hotel-by-hotel Membership basis as each package is different; it depends, too, upon the extent to which you would like to be / can be involved in the awards. Membership is by way of one annual fee and our rates have gone down for 2011/12 as we've increased efficiency, you'll be pleased to hear! Once you are on board we'll do our very best to be as helpful and supportive as we can.
Membership is open to accommodation providers rated in general at 3 stars or above. Those not graded by VisitScotland or the AA are welcome to apply.
We hope to work with you as we seek to encourage and recognise your contribution to excellence in Scottish hospitality. The 9th Awards Night is in Glasgow in spring 2012. Nominations are now open and research well underway.
